Soundscraper – Noise Pollution Converter

While the aesthetics of this conceptual design may be up for discussion, the idea is worth taking note of.

With a skin of electro active lashes, the Soundscraper harvests noise pollution in form of kinetic energy. When located next to major infrastructure points, such as airports and highway junctions, one such tower is supposedly able to produce until 150 MW/h representing 10 % of urban lighting consumption of Los Angeles.

The project can be found here.

The project received an honorary mention at the eVolo 2013 Skyscraper Competition.
