Aquaponics is a modern brainchild of agricultural technology. It describes the process of symbiotic cultivation of plants and aquatic animals in a recirculating environment. The concept is simple: Take hydroponics and replace the (chemical) nutrients with fish waste and the plants will do the filtering of the water. All you need to do is feed the fish!

It’s easy, sustainable, very promising and yet most people will never have heard of it.
